ArtSHIP-Shippensburg’s Art & Wine Festival

The 2nd Annual Shippensburg Art and Wine Festival will be held Saturday, June 6th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the North Earl Street Triangle near the Old Main Drive campus entrance of Shippensburg University. A $20 wristband includes your souvenir wine or beer glass, sampling and entertainment (You must be 21 years or older to purchase a wristband). Wine and microbrew tastings, sculptures, great food, music and children’s activities will be on the North Earl Street Triangle. Art demonstrations, displays, music and food will be available in Downtown Shippensburg. The following wineries are planning on participating; Adams County, Benigna’s Creek, Hauser, Mt. Hope and Starr Hill. Microbrews will be offered by the following participants; Heritage Wine Cellars, Market Cross Pub, Roy-Pitz, Swashbuckler at Mt. Hope and Victory Brewing Company.

Numerous outdoor sculptures created by students from the Art & Design Department at Shippensburg University will be on display on the North Earl Street Triangle. Local artists will be displaying and demonstrating their art in Downtown Shippensburg beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. The SHAPE Gallery will be exhibiting art from the following artists; Brooke Alyse, Art Berman, Anne Cherry, Ben Culbertson, Margaret Evans, H. I. Gates, Staci Grimes, Mary Hickman, Viktoria Hoover, Andrea Geesaman, Brandii Kligge, Albert Mason, Wanda McNamara, James Rainey, Cookie Redding, Lisa Rhinehart, Kurt Smith and Allison Wise. East Meets West Emporium will be hosting the artist, Scott Lux.

Music will be ongoing throughout the day and will include performances by “Second Time Through”, “Bill Baker”, “Ledbetter Heights”, “Nancy and Jody” along with the “Shippensburg Middle School Jazz Group”. Please bring along a lawn chair or blanket so that you can relax and enjoy the music, art, tastings and great food. Participating restaurants and food vendors include Black Horse Restaurant & Tavern, Corner Coffee, Funnel Cakes, Kathy’s Deli, Keswick Creamery at Carrock Farm, Knute’s Pub & Grill, Lulu’s Bread Box, Main Street Deli and Suzy Cool.

Children’s Activities between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. will include storytelling, “The Balloon Slinger” and numerous other fun activities.

Related events that day are the Dedication of the Shippensburg Civil War Trails and Walk from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Later in the evening, Bobby Vinton will be appearing live in concert at the H.
