Dinner: 5:30p.m., in Cocoa's Den & Power Play over-looking the ice.
Game: 7:00p.m., seats in section 102 & 125
Location: Giant Center, Hershey, PA.
Cost: $57.00/adult; $34.50/children
Come out and join us to watch the Hershey Bears host the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins. Dinner is served in the private dining rooms of Cocoa's Den & Power Play overlooking the ice and includes a delicious buffet menu of salad, oven-baked stuffed chicken, sides, the ever popular peanut butter pie, and non-alcoholic beverages and popcorn to enjoy during the game - all with great seats!

Dr. Jody Harpster '74M and Dr. Tony Winter '76 will be guest bartending. Come on out for a fun social evening and support Shippensburg while enjoying the company of friends and fellow alumni. Slippery Rock University alumni will be joining us as well! Hors d'oeuvres and door prizes throughout the night. Cash bar available with special drink prices of $3 beers, $4 wines, and $5 mixed drinks. Pi Day

Pi, Greek letter, is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi Day is celebrated by math enthusiasts around the world on March 14th. Pi = 3.1415926535…

With the use of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal. Pi is an irrational number meaning it will continue infinitely without repeating. The symbol for pi was first used in 1706 by William Jones, but was popular after it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler in 1737.

Believe it or not, there's even a Pi Day website!!!!

Read Across America Day

March 2nd is marked "National Read Across America Day" which promotes the love of reading. In keeping up with the spirit of the day, here's a fun 'poem' to recite with the kids...
READER'S OATH:
I promise to read Each day and each night.
I know it's the key To growing up right.
I'll read to myself,I'll read to a crowd.
It makes no difference If silent or loud.
I'll read at my desk, At home and at school,
On my bean bag or bed, By the fire or pool.
Each book that I read Puts smarts in my head,

Graduation Day

Winter undergraduate commencement rescheduled for Feb. 27: The Winter Commencement program that was postponed due to severe winter weather is re-scheduled for this Saturday, February 27 in the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center. The speaker for both ceremonies is local TV reporter Chuck Rhodes.

Rhodes, after 35 years of forecasting weather at WHTM-TV in Harrisburg, ended his forecasting career in May and began working as a feature reporter noted for his "Out & About" series that focuses on interesting people and programs in the region. A native of Lewistown, he served four years in the United States Navy until his discharge in 1970. He attended Shippensburg University where he met his wife of 37 years, Carol, a 1971 Shippensburg graduate. He later earned a degree in radio-television broadcasting from the Pennsylvania State University.

The University acknowledges that the cancellation of the December 19 program was a disappointment, and hope this special ceremony will provide graduates with an opportunity to share their achievements with their family and friends.
